I am generally too shy to share any film photos I take here. I’m in love with film, but I’m not very experienced. I just got a few rolls developed from this summer, though, and I quite like a few of them. It’s fun how the lag time between snapping and developing on film can mean that you might be getting images a season later.

That second photo is absolutely breathtaking! I love the fog…it makes the flower really stand and creates such a calm mood. Beautiful!
beautiful photos! keep sharing. I actually bought a film camera earlier this week and I’m looking forward to playing around with it. Mostly I’m just looking forward to discovering/seeing the unexpected. I’m a bit exhausted living in this instant world, sometimes it’s nice to have to wait…to have something to look forward to.
Brianne: It was hot and humid outside and I had just taken the camera out of a house with AC….foggy lens :)
Talley: Thank you! I know exactly what you mean about instant-world-weariness.
These pictures are gorgeous, a real inspiration for me to get out and find a film camera! My grandfather has an awesome film set up with great lenses and all, but he uses his on the regular. I sure hope he leaves it to me in his will, what a treat that would be (in around 30 years!) I am daunted by the prospect of finding a camera since I know so very little about them. What do you use?
Hi Alyssa, thanks for stopping by. I’m using a Pentax K1000, which is sort of a classic learning camera because it’s stripped down to literally the bare bones, but that I love in its own right as well. I think before grabbing a film camera though, we live in a time where it’s nice to practice on a digital camera on manual, since that’s what people usually have. It’s a nice way to get a feel for aperture/shutter speed settings in different lighting.
I love film. I actually just booked a wedding photographer who uses nothing but film – which I’m so giddy about.
That’ll be so beautiful, Laken :)
Beautiful shots, sister friend.
These are really lovely! Really!
Thanks so much, Nicole.
